Earthquakes

This month, the earthquake is quite a regular event.
Two earthquake in a month is just too much.
On 2 September 2009 afternoon , the earthquake happened in Tasik, but we feel the effect quite nasty in Jakarta.
The scale is 7.2.
Because the quake position is quite near to Jakarta.
The worst damage happened in Tasik area.
Many house flat on the ground, people got injured and many lives are gone.

This month, too, on 30 September 2009, another quake happened in Sumatra.
The quake centered in Padang.
The scale is 7.6.
But looking at the damage the quake has caused, I think it's more than 7.6.
Some has said, it probably reach 9 in scale.

The quake has caused a landslide located in four hills in the Pariaman, Padang.
Four villages buried under 6 - 10 meter height of soil.
About 160 people buried underneath.
And that's only in one area.

Today, I watched the news and there's another quake in Papua.
The quake is 6.1 in scale.
And another quake in Gorontalo, they said it's 5.3 in scale.
There's no report yet about any victim or damages from this 2 area.

My sister had a friend of her, currently staying in Padang.
She asked her mate, how is she doing.
Her friend is just laugh bitterly, so my sis asked her again why.
Her friend just answered that she's just resigned to the situation.
She's just grateful and nothing more, that she's alive at the moment.

This havoc is just another reason to be thankful, grateful for what we had.
We can still eat, drink, sleep well, getting supplies easily, not injured, and still alive.
Sometimes we just took things for granted.
Thinking that no way it's gonna fade or gone.
But things do fade away whether we like it or not.
Our live will fade too in time.

Always remember to thank God and to people we care about, whenever, wherever, every single time.
While we still had the chance.

Let's pray for our relatives in Padang and help by donating to them.
Bless you all.
